RFP MH-0604/RAM. WMATA is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to design, manufacture, test, and deliver one (1) self-powered track geometry vehicle. The vehicle shall be capable of recording and analyzing the geometry of the WMATA tracks and infrastructure such as the track gauge, measurement of tunnel clearances, rail geometry, internal rail flaw detection, guard rail gauge, third rail and platform gauge and height, thermal imaging, and measuring wayside electrical signals. Also to be included are spare parts, manuals, training, on-site support and a warranty program. This is a Best Value RFP. Proposals are due May 30, 2008. Award of the contract is anticipated to be made in October/November 2008. A pre-proposal conference is scheduled for Friday, April 4, 2008 at the Authority's Headquarters, The Jackson Graham Building, 600 Fifth Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20001. A DBE goal will be established in the near future.
