Description
The USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ), Pink Bollworm Rearing Facility (PBWRF) in Phoenix, AZ intends to procure air carrier services for the daily transport of air freight full boxes of live Pink Bollworm Moths from Phoenix, AZ to El Paso, TX and Bakersfield, CA as well as the return of the empty shipping boxes from El Paso and Bakersfield to Phoenix. The estimated period of performance will be from May 1, 2008 through October 15, 2008. Option periods for four additional years (May 1 through October 15) will be included in the contract for a maximum contract length of five years. The USDA intends to award a firm-fixed price per pound contract with economic price adjustment for fuel costs. This will be a best value procurement. It is anticipated that the formal solicitation, Request for Proposal (RFP) AG-6395-S-08-0054, will be released on or about March 26, 2008 and posted on this FEDBIZOPPS website. Please download the RFP from this website. This is being offered as a total small business set-aside. Therefore, all interested small businesses may respond. The NAICS code is 481112.
