The Forest Service requires spraying of approximately 5,457 designated lodgepole pine trees in 16 designated recreation sites in order to provide protection from Mountain Pine Beetles. This project is located on the Challis, Yankee Fork, Lost River, and Middle Fork Ranger Districts of the Salmon-Challis National Forest, Custer County, Idaho. This project will be advertised as a commercial item performance-based written quotation and will be solicited under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The performance period will be 14 calendar days. Work is estimated to start June 9, 2008, actual start dates will be dependent upon weather conditions. Quotes are due at 3:00 p.m. MST, May 22, 2008. The solicitation will be available on approximately April 24, 2008, and can be downloaded from this site at that time. Hard copies of the solicitation document will not be available. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation and amendments will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition.
