Request for Information (RFI) for Wheeled Ground Combat Vehicle Passive Armor The purpose of this RFI is for the United States Government (USG) to determine if there are new passive armor solutions that are within the parameters defined below. Information provided by vendor(s) will be protected in accordance with the document markings. Project Manager Stryker Brigade Combat Team (PM SBCT) will be the primary reviewer of the responses to this RFI. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 15.201 (e), responses to this notice are not an offer and cannot be accepted by the USG to form a binding contract. Per FAR 52.215-3, Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes: (a) The USG does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or to otherwise pay for the information solicited. (b) Although "proposal" and "offeror" are used in this RFI, vendor response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal. (c) This RFI is for planning and market research purposes only and should not be considered as a request for proposal or as a solicitation to do business with the USG. Passive Armor Project overview The USG is requesting information to determine state of the art and cost of passive armor solutions developed for wheeled ground combat vehicles at STANAG 4569, AEP-55 Volume 1 ranging from Level 4 up to Level 6. The USG will use this information to develop an acquisition strategy over time that meets the complete needs of the Army. RESPONSE INSTRUCTIONS Respondents that cannot answer all questions in this RFI need not respond. Receipt of an incomplete RFI (parts A and B) will not be reviewed.
