The 502d Contracting Squadron intends to solicit, in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 Commercial and (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, for the San Antonio Army Medical Center (SAAMC). This Request for Information (RFI) is for planning purposes only and is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ) or Solicitation. A solicitation is not being issued at this time and this notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation. The Government will not provide reimbursement for costs associated with this request. Responses will be treated as information only and will not be used as a quote. Any information provided by industry to the Government, as a result of this (RFI) is strictly voluntarily. The information obtained from responses to this notice may be used in the development of an acquisition strategy and a future (RFQ). The submitted documentation, upon delivery, becomes the property of the U.S. Government and will not be returned. SAAMC is exploring options to acquire DirecTV satellite television programming services for their location and surrounding facilities on a consolidated bill for current hardware; installation and programming for this new requirement. The service shall have the following specifications: • Locations and quantity of active receivers at each site can be added, deleted, or modified from the account at the discretion of the customer. • Each receiver will be authorized for service from the DirecTV packages. Channel packages may be added, deleted, or modified from the account at the discretion of the customer. • Service provider will outline a standard schedule of fees and credits for the optional services. Fees will be identified as one time or recurring charges. • Covered observation point with 360° view • Structurally sound design to withstand strong winds • Services will be billed monthly on one consolidated statement at a predetermined price per television connection basis. Television connections may be billed at two different rates for viewing areas determined to be private versus public. Private viewing areas are defined as any office space not readily accessible by the general public. The location of the current service is unknown at this time, but for informational purposes consider the following: • San Antonio Army Medical Center, San Antonio, TX 78234 - multiple buildings • Camp Bullis, San Antonio, TX 78257 The location of the new hardware, installation, and service is unknown at this time. The Government requests vendors provide information on the following: 1. How does industry handle this type of request commercially? 2. Would industry provide a price list for unknown requirements? 3. What are the top five (5) questions your company needs answered with regard to this requirement? 4. What risks should we be aware of that would substantially impact the resultant purchase? 5. Would you respond to a Request for Quote (RFQ) on this if it were to be solicited and why?
