Description

The Department of Homeland Security, Office of Procurement Operations is soliciting proposals for the Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) under Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) BAA-08-102 for Advanced Technology Demomstration Shielded Nuclear Alarm Resolution to develop and test advanced technology to automatically verify with high confidence that special nuclear material (SNM) is NOT present inside an object (e.g., container) through the measurement of signatures unique to SNM. The primary objective is to clear cargo, packages, and vehicles of threat contraband with very low missed detections, measurements leading to inconclusive, low-confidence results should alarm.
