The Western Montana Acquisition Zone anticipates issuing a Request for Quotations for the Big Creek Road Decommissioning project on the Glacier View Ranger District, Flathead National Forest, Flathead County, Montana. The project consists of reclamation of several miles on four roads. Items of work include determining stake locations that coincide with the road logs; construction of road closure earth berms and waterbars; removal and disposal of culverts; and seeding and fertilizing of worksites including use of straw mulch at each site. Additionally, importation and spreading of riprap is required at most of the culvert removal sites. All culvert removal and stream restoration sites require erosion control blankets and straw wattles. A Pre-Bid Tour will be held and the date and location will be identified in the solicitation. The solicitation will be issued approximately April 9, 2008 and can be downloaded from this site at that time.
