The National Park Service intends to issue a prospectus on Friday, March 21, 2008, for proposals to operate overnight accommodations, food and beverage, retail, fuel, and transportation services within the Stehekin area of Lake Chelan National Recreation Area. The existing Concession Contract between the National Park Service and the existing Concessioner expires on October 31, 2008, or when a new Contract is awarded, which ever occurs first. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51, has determined that the existing Concessioner is NOT a preferred Offeror for the Contract to be awarded. The term of the new Concession Contract will be for ten (10) years. Any offer, including that of the existing Concessioner, must be received by the Concession Program Manager, National Park Service, Pacific West Region, 1111 Jackson Street, Suite 700, Oakland, California 94607 no later than seventy five (75) days from March 21, 2008 in order to be evaluated and considered for award of a Concession Contract. The prospectus will be issued on March 21, 2008, for a 75-day response period under the terms described in the prospectus, with proposals due on June 4, 2008, no later than 4:00 p.m. (Pacific Time). There is a printing cost recovery charge of $50 per copy to be delivered via Federal Express or $40 per copy if picked up in person. Checks or money orders (no cash or credit accepted) must be payable to the National Park Service; and you must include a business address (no post office box) to receive a Federal Express package.
