The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 6, Asheville VAMC intends to award a contract for the purchase of Steam and Hot Water Coils. The NAICS code for this requirement is 238220 and business size standard of 1,000 employees. This is not a request for bids, quotes, or proposals. This is a SOURCES SOUGHT announcement only. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information from qualified businesses. The responses to this announcement will assist in determining the socio-economic set aside if feasible. The Department of Veterans Affairs is required by Public Law 109-461 to give priority to SDVOSB and VOSB concerns if there should be sufficient firms available to compete under a set aside. If insufficient veteran owned and small business response is received to establish the basis for setting this action aside for other than large business participation then the action will be advertised as full and open competition, in which case, all interested parties responding shall be eligible to bid. The Asheville VA Medical Center, located at 1100 Tunnel Road Asheville, NC, is seeking a potential qualified contractor than can provide a Steam and Hot Water Coils that meets or exceeds the following requirements: SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS VA Solicitation Number TBD Requirement Title: Steam and Hot Water Coils Need Steam and Hot Water Coils for HV-2 and AHU-5 Market To be determined (example: VA FSS Schedule 66, SIN 615-1) Brand Name Product Daikin To be considered for evaluation, offered items must meet the following salient characteristics: Product 1: Steam Coil, HV-2 Functions to be performed: Transfer Heat inside unit HV-2 Performance required: Heat transfer 60.0 deg F entering coil, 92.8 deg F leaving coil, 430,848 BTU/Hr Pressure 5.0 psi of Steam 12,000 cfm Airflow 445 lb/hr condensate load with a 0.07 inches of Water Air Pressure Drop in the Coil Essential Physical Characteristics: Construction: Copper tubing, minimum.0.20 inch nominal thickness and 0.625 inch diameter Aluminum fins, 0.0075 nominal thickness, 6 fins per inch 2 inch supply; 1.5 inch return Product 1: Steam and Hot Water Coils, AHU-5 Functions to be performed: Transfer Heat inside unit AHU-5 Performance required: Heat transfer 60.0 deg F entering coil, 92.8 deg F leaving coil (Air-Side) Heat transfer 160 deg F entering coil, 139.6 deg F leaving coil (Water-Side) 467,941 BTU/hr Flow Rate 45.9 gallons per minute 14,000 cfm Airflow 0.20 inches of Water Air Pressure Drop in the Coil Essential Physical Characteristics: Construction: Copper tubing, minimum.0.20 inch nominal thickness and 0.625 inch diameter Aluminum fins, 0.0075 nominal thickness, 10 fins per inch, 2 rows 2.5 inch connection, right-hand, 3 inch length This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach.
