Solicitation The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Strategic National Stockpile (DSNS) intends to issue a solicitation for 90-Minute Ground Transportation for Strategic National Stockpile Deployment. CDCs mission is to promote the health and quality of life by preventing and controlling disease, injury, and disability. As part of this mission, CDC is tasked with implementing programs to ensure that people around the world will live safer, healthier lives through protecting Americans from health threats via a prevention, detection and response network and establishing CDC as trusted and effective resources for health development for all Americans. CDC addresses critical public health challenges through working with a diverse set of partners to support the development and implementation of appropriate public health interventions. DSNS manages the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS), a part of DSNSs mission is to distribute SNS, the Nations repository for medical supplies, drugs, vaccines and other related equipment. The SNS exists to re-supply state and local emergency medical responders in disaster events, especially biological or chemical terrorism. The objective of this procurement is to provide freight capability 24 hours per day, 365 days per year for rapid movement to transport Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) assets throughout the Continental United States (US) in the event of a national emergency or crisis. This requirement is for full and open competition under the North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code of 488999 - All Other Support Activities for Transportation with a small business size standard of $7.2 million. The resultant award is expected to be a multiple award, firm fixed price contract. The period of performance will be for twelve (12) months with four (4) 12 month option periods. This notice is a request for proposals. Proposals are due September 6, 2017, at 2 PM EST.
