This notice announces the intent by the U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis (IAW FAR Part 13.501(a)). The proposed source is University of South Carolina, Peromyscus Genetic Stock Center (PGSC), Columbia, SC 29208. U.S. Army Public Health Command (USAPHC) has a requirement to procure Peromyscus leucopus mice which are a wild species of mice used to determine if the mammalian toxicity values that were generated by laboratory rodent species are representative of wild mammalian species also. The toxicity tests that will be used to generate TRVs will be reproductive/developmental toxicity tests, and of all the wild species used in toxicity tests in laboratory settings, Peromyscus is the best model for a wild species to be able to reproduce and adapt well to a laboratory setting. There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 112990. with a Small Business Size Standard of 1250 employees.
