Description

Description: The Project Manager for Maneuver Ammunition Systems (PM-MAS), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ and the Army Contracting Command-Rock Island, IL (ACC-RI), are currently seeking sources for the manufacture and delivery of M2A2 Ammunition Boxes. The M2A2 Metal Ammunition Box, NSN: 8140-01-604-5849, is a water tight steel box powder coated inside and out, approximately 12 inches long, 7.5 inches tall and 6 inches wide, used to store/transport small caliber ammunition and other military items. It has a hinged/removable lid. The production of the M2A2 Metal Box requires potential producers to have manufacturing capabilities of metal cutting/shearing, sheet metal forming, drilling and punch press capabilities, seam welding, spot welding, degreasing/cleaning and finishing painting/powder coating. Specifications: The M2A2 Metal Ammunition Boxes are purchased to a Government owned Technical Data Package (TDP). A top level drawing ( 13032542) is available from the point of contact listed below. Both the TDP and top level drawing are marked Distribution A, Approved for Public Release. All applicable military drawings and specifications must be followed, ref MIL-DTL-3060 Rev G (w/Amendment 3), dated 23 November 2015. The Government does not intend to deviate on any dimensional tolerance or specifications. Planned Acquisition: A firm fixed price contract with a base year and four option years is contemplated for the period of FY19-FY23 with a planned award in 2QFY19 for approximately 1,000,000 each M2A2 Ammunition Boxes annually. The contractor will be required to have the capacity to manufacture and deliver approximately 83.5K each M2A2s per month beginning January 2020. Offerors are advised that the Government is contemplating consolidating the procurement of M2A2 ammunition boxes into the next Lake City Army Ammunition Plant (LCAAP) competition in lieu of proceeding with a separate procurement for the M2A2 ammunition boxes. Submission Information: All responsible interested sources should submit their capabilities/qualification data. The respondents capabilities information must demonstrate the ability to produce 1,000,000 M2A2 Ammunition Boxes annually. All potential producers are requested to submit a capability statement, which reflects their manufacturing capabilities, specialized equipment, critical skills, etc. Interested firms that can meet all the requirements set forth above are requested to submit responses with clear and convincing documentation via email to the point of contact listed. Submittal of information is requested via electronic mail only, no later than 30 days from the date of this notice.
