Complete package with SOW and clauses / provisions The USDA-ARS in Fargo, ND is looking for bids for one (1) new hydro cutter (water knife) for installation at the USDA-ARS Potato Research Worksite, 311 5th Ave, NE, East Grand Forks, MN. The hydro-cutter system will have the capabilities to process french fries from potatoes 2.5 to 4 in diameter, and potatoes not exceeding 8 in length. The system will replace an Urschel Stainless Steel cutting head (model GRL). Although the existing fry line is set-up for a continuous process, the line is utilized to process 20-50 pound batch samples from advanced breeding clones and output does not exceed 4 ton/hour. The hydro-cutter will be secured into existing 1/20 scale french-fry processing line and will be positioned between existing steam peeler and continuous blancher conveyor. Hydro-cutter System Specifications The hydro-cutter system needs to be constructed with stainless steel (304) or food grade polymer components including: • Water receiving tank/reservoir capable of holding 300 gallon or similar, qty = 1 • 8 Cornell Food pump, 30 hp motor or equivalent, (equipped with variable frequency drive VFD* qty = 1 *VFD Power Flex 70AC drive, 400 VAC, 3 PH, 60Amps, 30 KW Normal Duty, 22 KW heavy duty, Stainless Steel Panel mount IP20/NEMA Type 1 LCD Display with keypad, IGBT Brake install, Allen Bradly frequency drive, or similar. • 8 cutting loop assembly, qty = 1 The cutting loop assembly will consist of the following or similar components that will enable the worksite to produce 3/8 x 3/8 french fries from tuber size profiles ranging from 2.5 to 4 - 8, 90° singulating sweep - curve corrector - accelerator cone, - aligner (6 fin or similar) - knife block and knife assembly -decelerator. • Dewatering conveyor 5 or similar, and debris filter system on water return lineqty =1 Labor Description • Contractor responsible for disassembly of existing Urschel Model GRL stainless steel cutting head system, including electrical disconnect. Location will coordinate disposal of Urschel cutting head. • Hydro-cutter system will be positioned in line between existing steam peeler and blancher belt. Contractor responsible for securing hydro-cutter system mounts and electrical, plumbing connections. Please make sure quotes are valid until 09/30/2017
