Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH), Pittsburgh Mining Research Division (PMRD) intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to: JH Fletcher & Co. located at 402 High Street, Huntington, West Virginia 25705 for a Roof Bolter for experimental and safety mine usage. Required specifications of the equipment are as follows: The equipment required is an electro hydraulic, self-propelled, mast feed, single head roof control drill with drill head mounted on sumping and swinging boom. The equipment shall be operated in the experimental and safety mine. The conditions at this mine have an average mining height not to exceed 8 feet. The average height is 6.5 feet with locations as low as approximately 5.5 feet. Due to conditions in the mine the machine shall be less than 27,000 lbs. The equipment shall have a heavy duty chassis with front chassis/ boom lift and manually adjustable canopy and dual positioning (left and right side of chassis) controls. This order is for supplies and/or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.501(a). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability by responding to this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within 15 days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
